ジョー・スモールNHKラジオ「ちきゅうラジオ」出演を終えて

Hello everybody! It’s Joe. How are you doing?
皆様、こんにちは！ジョーです。お元気でしょうか。

This past Saturday, I was interviewed at NHK radio on the program “World Radio Banzai”. What a lucky opportunity!
５月１１日（土曜日）にNHKラジオの「地球ラジオ」の番組の「地球人：ばんざい！」のコーナーでインタビューされました。とてもラッキーな機会でした！

As expected, I was quite nervous because it was my first time speaking in Japanese on the radio. And the first time playing taiko on the radio! But the radio hosts, Uchida-san and Kuramasu-san, as well as the NHK radio staff (including the producer) were very kind and patient with me. So, it was a really fun time!
ラジオで日本語で話したり、太鼓を叩いたりのは初めてだったし、やっぱり結構緊張していました！でも、地球ラジオのキャスターの二人（内多勝康さんと倉益悠希さん）、そしてNHKラジオのスタッフやプロデューサーの方達はとても親切でした。楽しい経験でした！

The interview starts at about 25:40 (25 minutes and 40 seconds) and lasts about 10 minutes.
インタビューは１０分間です。２５分４０秒頃から始まります。

So, I played taiko for about one minute near the end of the program. It’s an excerpt of Eitetsu-shisho’s “Mitsu Mai” (“Three Dances”) on okedo-daiko and shime-daiko drums. Tsuji-san helped me by playing the atarigane. Thank you, Tsuji-san!
一分間太鼓を叩いたことについて、英哲師匠が作曲した「三つ舞」の抜粋です。そして、辻さんは当たり鐘という鳴りもの系の楽器でバッキングリズムを叩いてくださいました。辻さん、ありがとうございます！

This is my first time writing for the Fu-un no Kai diary – I hope to write more this year. Recently we’ve been rehearsing and getting ready for Eitetsu-shisho’s concert in Shobara-shi!
初めて風雲日記で書いています。これから英語でも日本語でもますます書きたいと思います。ちなみに最近色々な５月１８日と１９日の広島県庄原市の公演のためにたくさんリハーサルと準備しています。
